Vizuálny umelec Tomáš Rafa so Združením Art Aktivista zrealizoval maliarsky workshop pre deti z rómskej osady v Sečovciach na východe Slovenska. V priebehu dvoch týždňov spolupracovali výtvarníci, dobrovoľníci a aktivisti Združenia Art Aktivista s deťmi zo sociálne vylúčených skupín na dvoch maliarskych projektoch priamo v osade.
Výsledkom bolo pomaľovanie obrovského plátna s rozmermi 10 x 10 metrov, ktoré sa následne v rámci vernisáže umiestnilo na priečelie bytovky v osade. Na maľovaní plátna s lektorkou Ivanou “Mariposa” Čonkovou sa zúčastnilo okolo tridsať detí, ktoré prejavili svoj talent a vytvorili spoločné dielo na tému „Môj vysnívaný dom“.
Proces letného maliarského workshopu ďalej pokračoval revitalizáciou spoločných priestorov bytovky jej samotnými obyvateľmi. S rekonštrukciou omietky vchodu pomohli miestni rómski študenti – murári. K vymaľovaniu priestorov sa pridali aj deti s rodinami z uvedenej bytovky. Projekt sa realizoval za podpory Úradu vlády SR a siete predajní Dom farieb.Výsledky projektu vo forme fotografií, krátkeho dokumentárneho filmu a samotného plátna najbližšie môžete vidieť v žilinskej galérii Plusmínusnula v Novej synagóge Žilina do 18.9.2015.

Visual artist Tomáš Rafa, together with the civic association Art Aktivista, organized a painting workshop for children from the Roma settlement in Sečovce, eastern Slovakia. Over the course of two weeks, artists, volunteers, and activists from Art Aktivista collaborated with children from socially excluded groups on two painting projects directly in the settlement.
The result was a giant canvas measuring 10 x 10 meters, which was later installed on the façade of an apartment block in the settlement as part of a public opening. Around thirty children took part in painting the canvas with lecturer Ivana “Mariposa” Čonková, expressing their talent and creating a collective artwork on the theme “My Dream House.” The process of the summer painting workshop continued with the revitalization of the shared spaces of the apartment building, carried out by its own residents. Local Roma vocational students—bricklayers—helped repair the plaster at the entrance, and children and families from the building joined in painting the interior spaces. The project was carried out with the support of the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic and the Dom farieb retail chain.
The results of the project—including photographs, a short documentary film, and the large-scale canvas—can be seen at the Plusmínusnula Gallery in the New Synagogue, Žilina, until September 18, 2015.
